Star Barcelona attackers Lamine Yamal and Raphinha were beaten to the Man of the Match prize, despite their respective excellence in the club’s latest outing.
Hansi Flick’s troops were of course back in action a short time ago, welcoming Deportivo Alavés to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.
When all was said and done, the Blaugrana secured a much-needed return to winning ways, courtesy of a 6-1 romp.
A whole host of Barca’s stars shone across the 90 minutes, with the aforementioned Lamine and Raphinha having both found the net on a pair of occasions.
As alluded to above, though, the ‘MVP’ award went the way of another member of Flick’s ranks, in the form of Fermín López.
Midfielder Fermín was in spectacular form once again this evening, laying on the assist for Raphinha’s opener, before turning goalscorer himself, and then bagging another assist before the interval, again to the benefit of Raphinha.
Post-match, the Spaniard was therefore voted the official Man of the Match.
