Pakistan and India will lock horns in the Gold Medal Match of the Asian Games 2026 at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin on Saturday. The highly anticipated contest will see the two sides battle for the top prize after impressive victories in their respective semi-finals.
India enter the final after producing a dominant performance against Sri Lanka. After posting 169/7 on a challenging batting surface, India’s bowlers completely dismantled the Sri Lankan batting lineup. Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel claimed two wickets each, while Abhishek Sharma returned remarkable figures of 2/2 as Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 45.
Pakistan, meanwhile, defeated Bangladesh by six wickets in a rain-affected semi-final that was reduced to 13 overs per side. Bangladesh managed 111/7 before Pakistan chased down the revised target with contributions from Saim Ayub, Hasan Nawaz and Abdul Samad. The result set up a blockbuster final against India.

Korogi Sports Park Pitch Report
The surface at Korogi Sports Park has proved challenging for batters, with the ball offering significant turn from the early stages of the innings. Spinners have enjoyed considerably more assistance than pacers at the venue, making them a key factor in the contest. Batters may need to spend some time at the crease before attempting aggressive shots, while bowlers who can exploit the turning surface could make a major impact. Given the difficulty of chasing at the venue, the captain winning the toss may prefer to bat first and put a competitive total on the board.
