The board at La Liga giants Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on the development of Brighton & Hove Albion star Bart Verbruggen.
This comes with a view to a potential future offer for the talented shot-stopper.
Verbruggen has for his part taken his place centre stage in the English media headlines across the day to date. This comes after the Dutchman conjured up a world-class performance to hold Manchester City at bay in a 1-0 Brighton triumph at The Etihad.
Verbruggen has long emerged as one of the standout goalkeepers in the Premier League, tipped for a long and bright future at the very top level of the game.
And as alluded to above, watching on from a distance all the while are those behind the scenes at none other than Real Madrid.
As per a report from Blancos insider Ben Fernandes Santos, amid a search for a long-term replacement for current no.1 Thibaut Courtois:
‘Bart Verbruggen is putting on a hell of a game and is driving Haaland crazy. Real Madrid arealready keeping a close eye on him as a possible future replacement for Courtois in Valdebebas.’
