Manchester United are back in Premier League action after a 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday. The Red Devils face Leeds United at Elland Road on matchday seven of the English top division at 14:00 local time on Sunday.
After being without a win in their last five matches, the Red Devils are under serious pressure to deliver a strong result and a failure to beat Leeds this weekend will very likely raise pressure on Michael Carrick.
Here is a look at the playing eleven that is likely to be employed by the visitors.
Goalkeeper – Senne Lammens is expected to retain his place in between the sticks for the away side.
Defenders – Leny Yoro played as the right back for United last weekend against Tottenham Hotspur and may deputise in the position once more. With Luke Shaw out, Diogo Dalot may be employed as his proxy on the left side of the back four.
Lisandro Martinez made some strong comments on Man United’s leadership after the Atletico defeat but has only been fined. He is available to play the Leeds match and might start in central defence, alongside Harry Maguire.
Baleba and Rashford drop out
Midfielders – Andrey Santos is likely to continue playing in a deeper-lying position in midfield with Kobbie Mainoo injured and out of the visit to Leeds United. The former Chelsea star is expected to be partnered by Youri Tielemans in a double pivot. The Belgian played an advanced role in the Champions League on Tuesday but could replace Carlos Baleba to feature beside Santos.
Bruno Fernandes, on the other hand, is expected to be the number 10 as he looks to regain his form.
Amad Diallo could start as the right winger on Sunday and £63 million star Matheus Cunha may be handed the nod on the left.
Forward – Bryan Mbeumo is expected to be the lone striker for Manchester United.
