Arsenal face Nottingham Forest at The City Ground tomorrow at 16:30 local time on matchday seven of the Premier League as they look to stay hot on Manchester City’s heels in the title race.
Mikel Arteta’s men will look to overcome a tough challenge against Oliver Glasner’s side. Victory against Nottingham would give the Gunners their third successive win in all competitions, maintaining their positive form after the international break.
Here is a look at the players the visiting side is expected to employ in its line-up.
Goalkeeper – David Raya is expected to play in between the sticks once more.
Defenders – Jurrien Timber is on the cusp of his 100th Arsenal appearance this weekend and could retain his place at right-back ahead of Ben White. Riccardo Calafiori, meanwhile, could come back into the team to feature at left back.
Ezri Konsa and Gabriel Magalhaes are expected to round off a solid-looking back four for Arsenal.
Odegaard and Saka back, Havertz returns to number nine
Midfielders – Declan Rice has been ever-present in Arsenal’s midfield lately and the English international is in contention to start the Nottingham Forest game too. Bruno Guimaraes, however, could miss out with Myles Lewis-Skelly, who played at left back in the Champions League clash midweek, likely to step into the engine room.
Martin Odegaard, meanwhile, could be the attacking midfielder for the visitors having been on the bench in the win over Lille.
Bukayo Saka might join his captain in returning to the starting eleven. He could be deployed on the right flank as Noni Madueke could shift to the left given Christos Tzolis’ anticipated absence.
Forward – Viktor Gyokeres failed to make an impact against Lille and might be relegated to the bench, with Kai Havertz taking his place as the number nine against Nottingham Forest.
Here is how Arsenal’s potential eleven is likely to look on paper.
