Everton have expressed interest in signing exciting Brazilian international centre-forward Vitor Roque from Palmeiras in 2027, according to Brazilian journalist Diego Firmino, as relayed by Sport Witness.
After spells with América-MG and Cruzeiro at youth level, Roque came to the limelight after joining Athletico Paranaense in 2022.
He netted 22 goals for the Furacão, which drew keen interest from several top European clubs, before opting to join Barcelona in January 2024.
However, things did not go as planned, as he struggled for regular game time before being loaned out to Real Betis. Despite his nine goal contributions, there were expectations that the Andalusian club would make his move permanent or that Barcelona would integrate him into their first-team squad. Instead, he returned to his home country in 2025 to join 12-time Brazilian champions Palmeiras.
Roque has rekindled his goalscoring form since returning to Brazil. He has netted 29 goals for Palmeiras, winning the Campeão Paulista and playing an important role in their run to the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup in 2025.
Despite struggling for most of the campaign, he has still registered 11 goal contributions so far, attracting keen interest and a possible return to Europe on the horizon.
Roque to Everton
Now, according to Diego Firmino, as relayed by Sport Witness, Everton have expressed interest in signing Roque in 2027.
With three years still on his contract, the Toffees will need to submit a concrete bid, with the report adding that Palmeiras will not consider offers below £44m.
Everton’s search for another centre-forward is understandable, particularly after Beto’s departure last season left Barry without a dependable alternative to share the workload up front.
The former Villarreal hitman has responded impressively, scoring eight goals in 12 appearances already to equal his entire return from 41 games last season.
Following back-to-back goals against Newcastle United, Barry will hope to be on target for the third consecutive game when Everton host Coventry City at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Friday night.
A win against Frank Lampard’s side could lift them to fifth place, but results elsewhere will determine how long they remain there.
