Alex Albon will celebrate his 100th race with Williams at the Hungarian Grand Prix, and the 30-year-old admitted that despite feeling “proud” of his journey, “there’s still so much more” he wants to achieve.

After losing his seat at Red Bull and taking a sabbatical, Albon joined the Grove outfit for the 2022 season and hit the ground running, charging from P20 to P10 at the third round in Australia to score his first points for the team.

He made a habit of making the most of whatever car he was given, achieving his career-best Qualifying result of P4 at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix and executing defensive masterclasses to hold onto valuable scoring opportunities at tracks in Canada and Monza.

With proven race winner Carlos Sainz signing for Williams, 2025 prompted another step forward in Albon’s performance – he delivered his highest finish of P5 at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix before matching the result in Miami and Imola.

Reflecting on the milestone ahead of Round 11 at the Hungaroring in Williams’ weekend preview, Albon said: “Hitting 100 races with this team means a lot to me. It’s been quite a journey since I first joined, and it is always nice to think back on some memories over the years, and I’m proud of how far we’ve all come together.

“There’s still so much more I want to achieve with Williams and in F1, and this weekend is just about doing the best job possible as usual and pushing for the best result we can get. Here’s to the next 100.”

He has been a key influence in the team’s progress over recent years, which culminated in them finishing ‘best of the rest’ last season, but they have suffered numerous setbacks under the new-for-2026 regulations and dropped towards the back of the midfield.

As a result, Albon hasn’t scored since the Monaco Grand Prix, but he remains optimistic that Williams could capitalise on any chaos to mark his century of races in style.

“Great to have my 100th Grand Prix, I guess in many ways,” he said ahead of the weekend. “Doesn’t feel like 100 Grands Prix but time flies, and [it’s] funny in many ways.

“We surpassed Nigel [Mansell] in Barcelona and [achieve the] 100th in Hungary – two tracks that predominantly we as a team don’t enjoy.

“Quite poor tracks for us, so I’m hoping for a turn of events this weekend, maybe the weather can come into play and make the 100th GP a jolly one.”
