India and Sri Lanka are set to face each other in the second semi-final of the Asian Games 2026 at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin. India are the top-seeded team in the competition and progressed to the semi-finals after their quarter-final against Afghanistan was washed out, while Sri Lanka will be hoping to produce a strong performance against one of the tournament favourites.

India will be led by Shreyas Iyer and have several members of their 2026 T20 World Cup-winning squad in the team. Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma and Shivam Dube provide plenty of batting depth, while Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi strengthen the bowling attack.

Sri Lanka, meanwhile, have brought a second-string squad for the Asian Games, with Sahan Arachchige named captain. Niroshan Dickwella is one of the more experienced players in the side and returns to the T20I setup after a lengthy absence. Sri Lanka will need their key players to step up if they are to put India under pressure.

Korogi Sports Park Pitch Report

The surface at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin is expected to favour spin bowling, with slower bowlers likely to play an important role during the contest. The pitch could offer some grip, making it difficult for batters to play through the line consistently. Fast bowlers may also find success by taking pace off the ball, particularly if the surface becomes slower as the innings progresses.

Batters are likely to need some time at the crease before attempting high-risk shots. Despite the presence of several powerful hitters in both squads, the conditions could make this a relatively low-scoring contest. Teams may therefore prefer to build their innings carefully rather than attack from the beginning.
