After the Croatian striker led his Bundesliga club to victory over Dortmund on Saturday afternoon, Hoffenheim sporting director Andreas Schicker commented on the status of Andrej Kramaric’s extension talks. Kramaric converted two penalties in Hoffenheim’s victory over Borussia Dortmund.
It nevertheless remains the case that – if the 34-year-old’s expiring contract is not renewed – Kramaric only has four fixtures left at the Kraichgau club that recently honored him with a mural on its “Wall of Fame”. Kramaric will be 35 when his contract expires at the end of June.
Does Andrej Kramaric wish to extend at Hoffenheim?
Kicker reports that Kramaric has been flirting with famous footballing player agent Pini Zahavi. The 114-times-capped Croatian international may be considering, like so many of his contemporaries, a lucrative move to the Arabian Peninsula.
It should be noted that Kramaric, despite a strong desire to play elsewhere, was ultimately convinced to remain in Sinsheim the last two times he renewed his contract: in 2022 and 2024.
Previous club sporting director Alexander Rosen tamed Kramaric’s “Wanderlust” in the first instance. Schicker persuaded Kramaric to remain shortly before Christmas some 18 months back.
It’s rumored that Schicker is offering Kramaric a post within club administration after his retirement. Schicker recently succeeded in tying down Turkish centre-back Ozan Kabak to a new long term deal.
Schicker’s Statement on Kramaric
“We’ve had positive discussions on that front,” Schicker told DAZN. “I hope that he’ll ultimately decide to remain. Things are moving in the right direction.“
