Arsenal and Manchester United pondering over January move for Evanilson

Arsenal and Manchester United spent big money on new strikers last year as they bought Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko, respectively. However, this season, both forwards have been limited to the periphery of the starting eleven.

Journalist Ekrem Konur has reported that the Gunners and the Red Devils are already pondering over renewed offensive reinforcements and heading into the January transfer window, Bournemouth’s Evanilson has emerged as a target.

In recent months, Eli Junior Kroupi’s stock had been on the rise but his injury, coupled with Evanilson’s excellent form up top has meant that the Brazilian is emerging as a hot property within England. He is valued at 55 million by the Cherries.

With three goals and four assists to his name already this season, it will be interesting to see whether Bournemouth are open to his sale in January rather than hold onto the 27-year-old’s services until next summer’s transfer window opens.

Arsenal may beat United to sign Evanilson

Though Mikel Arteta has used Kai Havertz as the centre forward with Viktor Gyokeres mainly starting on the bench, a natural striker’s addition would give Arsenal significantly more stability from a tactical standpoint.

Evanilson would be an excellent addition on that front. He has a strong physique, which makes him dangerous in the air as well as in the area. The Brazilian finishes clinically, holds the ball well and can create good chances for his teammates in the box too.

Out of possession, he works hard to press relentlessly and battles well with the opposition’s defenders to help regain the ball higher up the pitch. Therefore, he would be an ideal fit for Mikel Arteta’s side should he join in January.

Manchester United would benefit from Evanilson just as much, but with European qualification looking bleak for next summer after a poor start to the Premier League, the Bournemouth star may pick Arsenal, whose sporting project is yielding better results.
