Australia Women and Bangladesh Women are facing off in the third ODI of the Bangladesh Women’s tour of Australia 2026, with the hosts looking to finish the series on a high. Having already secured victories in the first two matches, Australia entered the contest aiming to complete a clean sweep. Bangladesh, meanwhile, were determined to produce a stronger performance and secure a consolation win against one of the strongest sides in women’s cricket.
Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first, a decision that paid dividends early in the innings. The hosts struck at regular intervals to keep Bangladesh under pressure, with Georgia Wareham producing a spectacular catch to send Murshida Khatun back to the pavilion.
Georgia Wareham pulls off a brilliant catch to dismiss Murshida Khatun
The dismissal came during the fifth delivery of the third over when Megan Schutt bowled a good-length delivery to Murshida. Looking to drive the ball, the Bangladesh batter managed only a thick outside edge. The ball travelled quickly towards the gully region, where Wareham reacted brilliantly to complete an excellent catch. The Australian fielder displayed sharp reflexes and superb anticipation to grab the ball cleanly, giving her team an important early breakthrough.
Murshida’s dismissal added to Bangladesh’s early difficulties as Australia continued to apply pressure with the ball. Wareham’s effort was a standout moment in the field, showcasing the athleticism and awareness that can make a significant difference in international cricket. The catch also provided Schutt with an early reward for her disciplined bowling, as Australia strengthened their grip on the innings.

Megan Schutt delivers a sensational bowling performance
While Wareham grabbed the spotlight with her fielding effort, Schutt was equally impressive with the ball. The Australian pacer finished with remarkable figures of four wickets for just 16 runs in her 10-over spell, which included five maiden overs. Her ability to maintain a tight line and length made scoring difficult for the Bangladesh batters. Schutt consistently challenged the opposition and capitalised on opportunities to pick up wickets, helping Australia restrict the visitors’ progress.
The five maidens further highlighted her control and accuracy, as she gave Bangladesh very little room to settle into their innings. Her performance underlined Australia’s bowling depth and the effectiveness of their disciplined approach.
Notably, Australia entered the third ODI with a 2-0 advantage in the series and an opportunity to complete a whitewash on home soil. Their decision to bowl first proved effective as the bowlers combined accuracy, movement and sharp fielding to put Bangladesh on the back foot. For Bangladesh, the challenge was to recover from the early setbacks and find a way to build a competitive total. With the hosts maintaining pressure through regular breakthroughs, the visitors needed a determined response to stay in contention.
